To attract attention to yourself and your real estate investing business, you need to market yourself, get your name out there. Luckily, you don’t need a lot of money or a marketing department to do this successfully. Here are a few strategies that helped me.

Become a Public Speaker
Most people are afraid of public speaking. However, if you can muster the courage to do it, it will boost your effectiveness in several ways. First, your audience will see you as an authority and believe what you say. People subconsciously respect the person at the front of the room giving a talk, and why wouldn’t we? We’ve been trained since grade school to trust our teachers at the front of our classrooms as individuals who are knowledgeable and can help us.
Second, it can garner prospective investors for you. Third, it will give you an edge over your more experienced competition.
If the thought of public speaking terrifies you, training will go a long way. Join Toastmasters International. They’re an organization that helps you overcome your fear of public speaking through training. Check them out at www.toastmasters.org.
Become an Author
Writing a book is even better than public speaking because it’s an instant credibility-builder. Whether or not you’re an expert, people will perceive you as such with a book under your belt. While most people have the desire to become an author, you don’t have to love to write to produce compelling work. Although it can be time-consuming and expensive, it’s a worthy investment. People view published authors with awe and respect.
Public Relations (PR)
Writing a book will generate you a ton of press because the media loves interviewing local authors, but it’s not necessary to get PR for your business; there are still ways to create it.
Send press releases to your local radio stations and newspapers when there’s something in the news about real estate or real estate investing. If there’s a story about the cost of real estate in your area, send out a press release with your opinion about it, and you’ll be surprised how often you get interviews for it. Make sure you get a copy of the interview that you can then use for marketing.
If you don’t know how to create a press release, just Google it, or find people on Fiverr or Upwork who will write and distribute them for you.

You don’t have to be a celebrity to engage in public speaking, and you don’t have to be of superior intellect to write a book. With the right tools, virtually anyone can engage in these activities and reach the right people. Now that you have some useful tidbits to help get the word out about who you are and what you do, you can immediately start putting them into practice. Don’t be surprised if you get quick results.
